Tourney Exposes Overrated Big 10
If the selection committee for the NCAA Tournament wants a piece of advice for hindsight, here’s one - eliminate three Big 10 teams to make room for deserving at-large teams San Diego State, Creighton, and St Mary’s. Okay, so Michigan beat Clemson - the most overrated team from the ACC. Illinois got controlled by Western Kentucky, and Purdue had to rally late to hold off Northern Iowa, both in the first day of action. My prediction is that no Big 10 teams will make the Sweet 16, this from a conference that got 7 bids. Atrocious!!! Did the committee actually watch these guys this year? Big 10 play had horrible shooting, no good press, and sloppy fast break play all year, with the exception of Michigan State. Meanwhile, those other teams settle for duking it out in the NIT. One other side note - Pitt did not deserve a #1 seed, looked horrible losing to Providence in the Big East Tourney, and had a major scare from ETSU this morning. They will not make the Final Four.
